Supported Independent Living (SIL)

Supported Independent Living (SIL) is a sort of NDIS support that assists you with your daily activities.

It includes having someone assist you with personal care duties such as showering and dressing, making meals, grocery shopping, medication management and administration, keeping your house safe and tidy, and transportation to and from appointments. SIL providers can also assist you in developing various skills, allowing you to live as independently as possible.

Who is Supported Independent Living intended for?

SIL may be granted for NDIS participants with higher support needs, such as those who require overnight support, 24/7 care, person-to-person work from a support worker, or extensive assistance throughout the day.

You may be eligible for SIL if you live alone or with others in a shared home. This support can allow you to be independent, make friends, and enjoy life while obtaining the services you require. Remember that if you live alone, Supported Independent Living is just one of the numerous support options available through the NDIS.
